The Turkish Crime Family

A group of hackers calling themselves The Turkish Crime Family has recently announced and presented evidence that they have obtained account credentials for 800 Million accounts. They claim that if Apple doesn’t pay the ransom by April 7, they will begin deleting and wiping the accounts.

Apple has come out and said that they had not detected any security breaches. The Turkish Crime Family responded by providing ZDnet and others with account credential that these outlets went and confirmed to be accurate.

The takeaway is simple, change your password before April 7, 2017 and consider two-step authentication.
